Man, did the Stars ever need that one. After that strange 5-game losing streak at home, they went on the road and somehow got 5 points out of 6, including the win in San Jose. After losing at home Tuesday (6 in a row), Dallas beat Carolina last night 3-2. With the victory, the Stars are back in the playoff picture, in the 8th spot with 72 points.

Tomorrow, the Stars have a very important home game against Minnesota, which has 71 points and is in 9th place in the Western Conference (7th place through 12 place are separated by only 2 points). Dave Tippett seems to be keeping this thing together with spit and twist ties (or however that saying goes).

13 games remain, starting Saturday with Minnesota. In the NHL, it's so important just to get in the tournament, because anything can happen in hockey -- moreso than in any other sport.
