Just in case you missed SportsTalk last night on KFWD, channel 52...here are the five "real" reasons I suggested that might have lead to Dan Reeves not joining the Cowboys. 1) He wasn't issued a team of bodyguards. Apparently, Pacman Jones sapped all the bodyguard resource money the Cowboys have. This, of course, is highly unfair. Why couldn't Reeves have his own bodyguard entourage? Jerry, again, being short-sighted. 2) Reeves is too calm. Jerry likes his coaches and players to fight and argue with each other. It just goes against the grain to get a classy, no-nonsense guy like Reeves. Why would Jones change now and go out and get someone who actually doesn't put up with such garbage? 3) Reeves doesn't have his own YouTube Rap and Music channel. Don't laugh...this has become a very important part of the Cowboys....marketing yourself to Hollywood. If you don't have a reality show, or a YouTube channel, or your own Facebook page, why bother even coming to the Cowboys? You need a rep...and Reeves is too boring for the Cowboys. Somehow, "Danny R" didn't have the same ring to it as "Marty B." 4) Reeves has simply too much Super Bowl experience. This makes Jerry very very angry. We can't have someone who might make the Owner and GM look bad in comparison, can we? Jerry likes coaches who have never been there before, so he can feel better about himself. Reeves is simply too successful, and Jerry wouldn't go for that. 5) Dan Reeves refused to legally change his name to Pinocchio. As we all know, Jerry only likes to employ puppets at Valley Ranch. Reeves simply would not go for it. At the last minute, Jones asked Reeves to change his name to Howdy Doody, but Reeves, again, would not stand for it. Dan Reeves doesn't have a Stellar background him self, he fired Shanahan at Denver for allegedly conspiring will John Elway on Offensive plays behind his back, he fought with Elway and drafted Tommy Maddox out of UCLA to replace him. He then got fired and was replaced by guess who? Wade Phillips. He then moved to the Giants and took Maddox with him and got fired there and then went to Atlanta and Vick gave him a heart attack.
