| Cowboys spokeswoman: We can't comment on Dan Reeves »
Former Cowboys running back and assistant coach and NFL head coach Dan Reeves is reportedly now at work at Valley Ranch. Problem is the Cowboys have yet to make an announcement on the hiring. Reeves is believed to be a consultant for the team. I've contacted the Cowboys PR staff and will let you know what they say, but we may not hear anything. Read update here. ESPN is reporting that the Cowboys entire staff has been instructed not to talk to the media and that Reeves will report directly to owner Jerry Jones. It all gets a bit tricky since Reeves and Wade Phillips have known each other and worked together for years. However, Jones could see Reeves, 65, as a short-term replacement for Phillips if he fires him. Another good nugget from the ESPN report is that Reeves, apparently, is working out of fired defensive coordinator Brian Stewart's old office. However, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Reeves is in defensive line coach Todd Grantham's old office and that he has moved into the old coordinator's office. Here's the initial report from ESPN. |
