These are some of the comments we've gotten recently on the WFAA Sports Blog: "Jerry Jones IS Al Davis Jr. Sad, very sad." "This franchise is slowly turning into the Oakland Raiders." It's true. The circus Jerry Jones has created at Valley Ranch is getting him all the wrong kind of publicity, as he is about to open his prized stadium in Arlington. Jerry has said he thinks any attention his team gets is good. It keeps the Cowboys in the news. Problem is when your team hasn't won a playoff game since the 1996 season, you don't have much credibility. Instead, you become a caricature - and I'm not just talking the "Fake Jerry" on "The Ticket." Jerry is becoming Al Davis, the Raiders maniacal owner and overlord, who has turned his once-proud franchise into the league's laughingstock. The Cowboys are not far behind. Dale Hansen asked Jerry before the season if any other owner would hire the Cowboys' general manager. Jerry cited accomplishments like the Super Bowls and the talent assembled, but failed in two respects. No one really believes he built the early 90s Super Bowl teams and the talent is only as good as what they do on the field. Point is no other team would hire Jerry Jones as their G.M. And things only get more bizarre at Valley Ranch: Dan Reeves is in and out after a couple days. Martellus Bennett uses his "Marty B" YouTube persona to offend gays and blacks and the guy who signs his checks. Two reality shows will feature Michael Irvin giving one guy a chance to make the Cowboys and another showing the life of Terrell Owens. Intense speculation says many members of the organization want Owens gone. Anthony Spencer was arrested in Indiana. Pacman Jones was released then claimed he could return to the team. Wade Phillips vows change, but says he won't fire defensive coordinator Brian Stewart, then fires him. Is that the change he was talking about? Special teams coach Bruce Read is fired. Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, who turned down head coaching jobs with eventual playoff teams Atlanta and Baltimore last year, goes after every head job, but doesn't get any. Well, the Princeton grad was smart enough not to go after the Raiders job and maybe he smart to want to get out of this mess. Garrett's "simplistic" offense is ripped by Cowboys and opposing teams. Good-guy Bradie James got into a scuffle with a heckling fan at Valley Ranch. Oh, did I mention no playoff wins in a dozen years. The entire Bob Hayes family saga doesn't have anything to do with Jerry, so that's just an outside Cowboys distraction. But with all of that just in the few weeks - since the season ended - it's no wonder the organization is on a media lockdown. It may just be practical. Any interview could go on for hours before ever talking about what happens on the field. It's gotten to the point where Jerry has either gone mad or insane, or a little of both. Either way he must be stopped for the Cowboys to regain their glory. His son, and Cowboys Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Player Personnel (he actually has a longer title than his dad), Stephen Jones must intervene. Or the Cowboys might as well settle for battling the Raiders for league laughingstock and not battling for Super Bowls. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

So true...this has been building for a long time now.
I'm sure there are quite a few out there that don't want to admit it - the "REAL" fans. Wake up people, you don't support your team by blindly approving and rationalizing bad move after bad move - you do everything you can to push them in the right direction, even if that includes loudly criticizing the stupidity of the team's moves.
Since taking over as GM "officially" in 1994, Jerry has never made a positive move without at least two offsetting negatives - Jerry is the problem. Until he's gone, the only thing we have to look forward to is the increasingly mediocre Valley Ranch Circus. 6-10 would be a laughable way to usher in the era of JerryWorld.

Becoming? Jerry is worse than Al Davis, Al can blame his problems on old age and dementia. Jerry has no excuse for his ego that is bigger than Texas. We all need to boycott Pepsi, Ford, Nike, Bank Of America and Miller Lite for their support of Jerrys thugs. That might get his attention
