« A-Rod doesn't get pass for admitting steroid use, after saying he didn't |

Count me as one of those in the small camp who actually give Alex Rodriguez credit for coming out and admitting his steroid use. Do I think it was because he was backed into a corner? Of course. If there was no Sports Illustrated report, there's no A-Rod confession. But still, players like Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire...all initially either denied taking steroids or flat-out refused to talk about the allegations. By at least acknowledging taking the banned substances, Rodriguez has a fighting chance of winning back some of his ex-fans and possibly even the sympathy of baseball's elite. The argument against Pete Rose being voted into the MLB Hall of Fame is largely due to his constant denials of betting on baseball. Many analysts have said that Rose might be in the Hall now, had he admitted to the allegations of betting right after they came out. A-Rod's actions are still shameful, still reprehensible, and still cast shame on the game. But by admitting his mistake, Rodriguez at least ends much of this controversy now. A lot of the speculation is now over. But the "hating" is just beginning. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

Give him credit for denying it only one year ago that he never used PED's.
You people are such hypocrits when it comes to drugs.
Okay, so Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire are pariahs, while Arod is excused because he "admitted" it? Please.
