Cowboys stadium name game

News 8's Brett Shipp has another one of his great reports about the Cowboys new stadium in Arlington.

You can read it here or watch it here.

It's all about how Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may have a hard time finding a company to pay for the naming rights -- as much as a billion dollars -- for the new stadium.

This goes to the theory that Jones, who is also the team's general manager, may be spreading himself too thin. How can he be an effective businessman wrangling up sponsors and also an effective evaluator of talent?

Both jobs are big. Maybe it's time for Jerry to pick one because the team, no matter where they play, has been a wild circus lately and with no playoff wins in a dozen years.

More on that here.

How about just naming it Jerry World and he can pay himself for naming rights.

How about WinnStar or Choctaw for a Stadium name? They should have the money, and an ironic twist - the Indians would be paying for a place for the Cowboys to play...JJ should at least call them.

I vote for Tom Landry Stadium.

How about Jimmy Johnson Stadium. We should name it after the person who took us to three Super Bowls.

I won't call the stadium by the name Jerry gets paid to call it.

I never once referred to The Ballpark in Arlington as "Ameriquest Field".

I would like to request all Arlington residents join together in referring to the new stadium by a name we can all agree on.

I like Arlington Stadium.

I mean we aren't currently using that name.

I say the stadium should be named Landry Field.

How about naming it "Jerry's Castle"
