It's convenient for MLB Commissioner Bud Selig to say Alex Rodriguez "shamed the game" now. But that's just shameful on his part. Selig has been commissioner since 1992 (acting commissioner from '92-98) and a team owner and administrator since 1970. The steroids era happened on his watch. If anyone in baseball is to blame for performance enhancing drugs in the game it's Selig. He's the commissioner. You don't see Roger Goodell or David Stern, the NFL and NBA commissioners, cowering. They take a stand. Sure Selig was probably mindful of trying to get baseball back from the 1994 strike, but doing so while risking the integrity of the game is shameful. Then turning around and calling the actions of a player who helped make his game popular with soaring home runs shameful, is wrong. A-Rod has plenty of fault here. Selig has more because he created the environment to let it happen. Shameful. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Very true. I'm glad somebody said something about this. He's got some nerve to even make a statement at all. Afterall, the Commish is Dr Frankenstein. A-Rod is just one of the many monsters that he created.
