I happen to agree with SportsTalk producer Josh Harvey (for once). Shaq would be a terrific addition to the Mavs, depending on what you'd have to give up to get him. Probably Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse and maybe someone else. Shaq is still very productive at the age of 35...he's an NBA All-Star, for goodness sakes. And the Mavericks, bless them, could always use another level of toughness. Shaq would give that to them. And in a five or seven-game playoff series, I'd take my chances with Dirk, Kidd and Shaq as three of my starters. I think any team in the West would have to take that lineup seriously. And just think of the marquee value if the Mavs would face the Lakers in the playoffs. Shaq versus Kobe. What great drama...what theater. Dallas sports fans have shown a great willingness to embrace athletes who arrive here mid-season. Remember the fervor that greeted Dennis Rodman when he first arrived? I was at Reunion Arena for his Mavs debut and the crowd greeted him like a rock star. Shaq would get much of the same reaction. So, bring Shaq Diesel to Big D. If, for no other reason, that it would make things a heck of a lot more interesting around here. 5 CommentsLeave a comment |

Are you nuts!!! Having Shaq here would be a circus. we all ready have that at Valley Ranch!! The only way he can play any more is using a wheelchair!!
No. Just no.
Yeah, that worked out great for the Suns last year. All that toughness inside they added got them a first round exit. Brilliant.
By the way, Shaq is about to turn 37, not 35. Do some research.
I stand corrected...typo...he is 36, turns 37 in March.
Calm down.
