TCU and Mountain West Conference Need Patience

The potential law suit by Utah's Attorney General against the BCS seems a little far fetched, especially since all eleven conferences are really part of the BCS already. The only trouble for TCU and teams in the conferences which don't have automatic berths is that it's tough to ever play for a championship, but it is possible.

TCU Athletic Director Dr Daniel Morrison Junior says the conferences are basically restacked or prioritized after each contract and when that happened the last time, the Mountain West Conference came in seventh. Only six conferences get automatic bids from the BCS. "We were close when it was reevaluated a year ago," he says. "With the year we've had this year, the Mountain West Conference would be around three or four after the first year, so I think we're positioned pretty well."

The next reevaluation will come in four years, but it sounds like there is light at the end of tunnel for programs like TCU as long as their conference continues to improve.
