Over the last decade of losing Rangers baseball, Michael Young has been one of the only constants...a beacon of light in a world of darkness. And now, the Rangers are asking him to take one for the team again, and make his second position switch in four years. All to accomodate a 20-year-old rookie, Elvis Andrus, who may or may not be the next coming of baseball immortality on the infield. Is there no other way to fit Andrus into the team without asking Young to make another unnatural switch? Maybe DH Andrus for a season? Maybe Andrus isn't even ready for the Bigs...something we won't know until Spring Training is over, and maybe not even then. The Rangers have generated precious little goodwill or warm, fuzzy feelings amongst their players and fans. The team does have a good, young core of talent, but not a feeling that the front office will do whatever it takes to win. The Rangers front office has been this team's achilles heel, making mistake after mistake, whether it comes to trades or free agent blunders. Losing Michael Young to a trade because of this disaster would be another public relations fiasco for Jon Daniels and company. Viewing Bulletin: Rangers rookie catcher and U.S. Olympian Taylor Teagarden is scheduled to be a guest tonight at 6:30 PM on our 30-minute live call-in show, "Tylock Lasik SportsTalk" on KFWD, Channel 52. I plan to ask Teagarden about the Michael Young situation, so be sure to tune in. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

THIS WILL BE THE LAST ACT OF STUPIDITY FOR ME. I WILL NEVER BE A FAN AGAIN. EVER.
I'm so tired of them getting rid of GOOD Players because they don't want to keep them or spend the Money! Just because they made a huge mistake Paying PAY ROD; doesn't mean they should tick off a good player to drive him out of here. He agreed to a 5 year extension and they haven't done anything to support the players they have by getting quality pitching here. That has always been the Rangers problem. They don't have a supporting cast to support the team. You can't win in the league without pitching. That has been proving time and time again. When will Hicks and Daniels learn this? When no one goes to the stadium to watch the team because we are always in the cellar? This City is more than ready for a Championship. It's like we are the Detroit Lions of Baseball. Never won a Championship and NEVER Will! Do we have to start referencing things that seem impossible is like saying "The Rangers Won the Championship!"
