Cowboys hire special teams coach

The Dallas Cowboys have hired a replacement for fired special teams coach Bruce Read, at least according to reports.

I just got off the phone with the Cowboys public relations staff and they aren't quite ready to confirm the addition of Joe DeCamillis as special teams coach, which has been widely reported.

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips worked with DeCamillis in Denver and Atlanta.

DeCamillis spent the last two years as Jacksonville's special teams' coordinator.

He has been a special teams coach since 1993 with the New York Giants (1993-96) and Atlanta (1997-2006) before joining the Jaguars.

DeCamillis is the son-in-law of former Cowboys player and NFL coach Dan Reeves.

So I guess we have a different Coach Joe on special teams now. Joe Avezzano will have to settle for sitting next to Dale Hansen seconding guessing.
