Bennett raps out an apology

I didn't hear the first one, the first YouTube rap that cost Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett a game check ($22,000), but I did get an earful of this one: Bennett's YouTube apology

Really, Bennett's YouTube rap doesn't bother me one way or the other; I didn't hear the first one, but I doubt it would have "offended" me in any way.

What does bother me is him blaming the media -- but I don't even put that on him. Young athletes (and fans) grow up and hear professional athletes say so often that "it's the media's fault," that it almost becomes the truth. So when something goes wrong, just blame the media. I think Bennett was just parroting what he has heard for so long.

Bennett is one of the few Cowboys who will just stand by his locker and talk to the media, off the record. Bennett's a fun guy, and certainly not a bad guy, at least not as far as I know.

He's a bad rapper maybe; and his judgment is questionable -- posting a half-felt apology rap on YouTube the day after getting in trouble for posting a rap on YouTube. But I don't have a problem with any of that; just don't blame me, or anyone else in the media, for the problems that causes.
