There are a lot of reasons to like Cowboys rookie running back Tashard Choice, a fourth-round draft pick. First, he's a really nice guy. He's considerate and bright. He's they kind of guy we hope football players are. He's a good guy. But I like the Georgia Tech product for what he does on the field, too. Choice has run 30 times for 147 yards this season, that's a healthy 4.9 yards per carry. Marion Barber is averaging 3.9 yards per carry this season. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Choice is better than the Cowboys' Pro Bowl running back or better than his fellow rookie, the injured Felix Jones. What I am saying is that Choice has ability. He's shown it in his chances this season. He certainly showed it in preseason. And he showed it at Georiga Tech. He is all over the GT record books and was one of the top rushers in the NCAA the last two years. By all accounts, he's a hard-working, dedicated and intelligent football player. This is how Choice is described on the Tech website: "One of the best leaders, one of the toughest players, and one of the top running backs in Georgia Tech history... a very durable player who played through injuries." He rushed for 1,473 yards as a junior and 1,379 yards as a senior (he battled a knee injury all season and missed just one game due to surgery). If Marion Barber can't play or is limited Sunday in Pittsburgh, the Cowboys (and their fans) shouldn't be too uncomfortable with Choice. What I still can't figure out is why, especially after the injury to Felix Jones, the Cowboys haven't used Choice more. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

I feel the same way and alot of it has to do with the O.C. and the H.C. are not very good a utalizing there personale. You look back and see before Jones got injured he had games with no touches or minimum touches. Choice should get 10 touches a game with Jones out but will see what Jason and Wade do.
