Time to Ask Again: Can Romo Win the Big Game?

For the first three and a half quarters of Sunday's Cowboys/Steelers game, it really looked like Dallas had turned over a new leaf. And that leaf was winning football in December. Rare, but true. It actually looked like we were about to seize the biggest win of the season, in one of the NFL's toughest road venues.

But in the blink of an eye, it all came crashing down.

The great performance by the defense didn't matter. The amazing rookie start by Tashard Choice didn't matter. And the surprisingly strong play by Pacman Jones didn't matter either.

It's way too early in Tony Romo's career to label him a dud in big games, but the question remains: is he ready to take that next step and guide the Cowboys into unchartered territory as a late-season winning team? So far, the results have not been pretty. He wasn't at his best vs. the Giants in the playoffs last year. He faltered down the stretch in Pittsburgh and didn't appear to be on the same page as his receivers.

And, of course, I don't need to remind you about what happened in Seattle a couple of years back.

The Cowboys now face another gut check game when the Giants come to Texas Stadium next week. I need to see something from Tony these next three games. The defense can play amazing football, but if Tony is not sharp....it likely won't matter.

And the Cowboys will once again be without a playoff win.

To be honest,i now believe that Tony is not the guy to lead this team in big game situations. He
has already proven just like yesterday he can't
come through under pressure. I think we need to draft a QB out of college for next season and trade Tony to someone who doesn't care about winning.

The true test of a man is his ability to come thru under adversity. I think T Romo has failed that test over and over again.

It isn't all Romo's fault, although he shares some of the blame. The biggest fault was whoever decided to use the "prevent" defense in the closing minutes. It hasn't worked all year, why would they think it would work now. Bad play calling the whole 4th quarter (offensively), and bad defensive play calling in the last 7 minutes of the game; that was what caused the 'Boys to lose this game.

i thought the dallas cowboys played a great game overall.but i do think its about time, that tony romo win the big game when the pressure is on.but until romo wins the big game,he wont be consided to be a great quarterback until he wins big game. jerry jones pays alot of money, for his players its about time the cowboys start winning important games.

Can he win the Big Game? How about, "can he win?"
