Rangers Should Add Players, Not Overdue Ballpark Amenities

With the announcement that the Texas Rangers would be adding a new video board next season and a new tier of "commissioner seats" on the third base line, I doubt baseball fans across the Metroplex were giving each other high-fives.

Rolled eyes is more like it.

Do you realize, the Rangers have only finished the regular season over .500, once in the last nine years? It's pretty sad when the annually dreadful and relatively new Tampa Bay Rays have won a playoff series, and the Rangers still haven't.

Cubs fans aren't the only ones long suffering.

I think it's long overdue that the Rangers will be adding a separate electronic out of town scoreboard and a new video board. But does it really matter, if the team is no good? I'd rather see some premium talent come to Arlington...those that can live and breathe. And preferably, pitch.

I wouldn't count on the Rangers having much success next season. The roster is largely unchanged and if Randy Johnson is the idea of that great free agent signing, Nolan Ryan has a lot to learn about running a club.

At least the Ballpark will offer a great view of the new Cowboys stadium, so fans can at least get a glimpse of a real winner....if only from a distance.

This is an ownership problem. Tom Hicks needs to go and get an owner here that actually wants to win.

I consider the Texas Rangers a farm team. everytime a player leaves the team. they do better. The problem is the owner and gm. Nolan Ryan needs to buy the team. Mark Cuban should try to buy it as well.
