Plaxico is One Strange Dude

I just never understand it. Why is it that the athletes with the best potential and best skills in their game always seem to be the ones who screw up the most? You seldom hear about the practice squad guy who got arrested or the third string right tackle who got into a strange fight at a nightclub somewhere.

It's historically the big name dudes: Pacman Jones, Michael Irvin, Michael Vick, Dennis Rodman, Roy Tarpley, just to name a few. And of course...Plaxico Burress. All he did was catch the game-winning touchdown vs. the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

And now he's been suspended for the rest of the season, and his career as a Giant might be over for good.

Plaxico is certainly the most dissapointing thing to come out of New Jersey since the Sopranos' series finale. He has skipped out on practice, missed the Giants Super Bowl parade, and now supposedly accidentally shot himself at a nightclub.

Whatever will he do next? We will find out, but not in a Giants uniform.

If I'm a Cowboy fan, I wanted Plax back. Because the Giants don't really seem to be at their best with him. Domenik Hixon is a star in the making and just starting to show his skills, as the new starter in place of Burress. Eli Manning seems quite comfortable with Amani Toomer, Kevin Boss and those stud running backs behind him. Plaxico is not really even in the conversation these days.

We'll see where Plaxico surfaces next.
