Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips says he will not resign. Asked directly by WFAA's Joe Trahan if he would consider resigning, Phillips didn't hesitate. "I'm not going to quit," he said. "I'm not going to quit on this team." He says he has talked with owner Jerry Jones and expects to remain. "I have some confidence in myself and I think he has some confidence in me," Phillips said. "I feel like I can do the job." He also says he may make coaching changes, but expects Jason Garrett to remain as offensive coordinator. 20 CommentsLeave a comment |

So Coach Phillips won't quit on this team? Is that the same team that never shows up for him in the first place?
Very funny. The joke is on you Coach if you think these players care about you, this team, this franchise or this city. This is just the first stop on the 'money train' for most of these players. At least hookers are honest about what they will do to you for the right price.
Right on Aristotle. Note to all season Tkt Holders of the Cowboys!!!. Yank Your seats out of that new TX Stadium, till Mr Jones see's the light. When he makes changes we can stomach to watch, then lets carefully consider slowly going back! How does it feel to be the laughing stock of the country. The Detroit Press today showed Detroit Fans they were not the worst team this year. Everyone knew the Lions were bad and played to expectations. The Cowboys were pre-crowned as Super Bowl Bound and couldnt even make a playoff game. Who is the worst in 2008. Congrats Jerry JOnes. You dun did it againnnnnnn !!!!!
Get Rid of Wade and Garrett NOW!!!! For God Sakes..Be a Man already..instead of overgrown spoiled Brat 2 yoa owner!
So is Wade going Brokeback Mountain on us?? "I can't quit you Jerry!!!"
He won't quit???? This team quit mid season. Every single player quit. Bunch of rich spoiled babies. This is what happens when you give the players all thier money up front. Romo and the rest of the players got what they want. Now it is time for them to pay up. I bet if players were BONUSED off performance that they would start playing ,oh I am sorry the word should be WORKING the way they are suppose too. This is not little league and it is not suppose to be fun for the players. This is the career you chose. Now get your behinds in gear and be men and EARN your pay.
What do these players care? They dont care about winning for this city, or even proving that they're worthy enough to wear that start. They've got their money..they're on a 7 month vacation and are still getting paid. They're not hurting or suffering. Its the fans who have dedicated their Sundays and Mondays to these boys, spending thousands of dollars on tickets and merchandise. Lets see how they'd play if they were paid based on performance. These guys are nothing but self absorbed morons. They're more concerned about their cars and diamonds and girlfriends..
I don't totally blame Wade here. Although he's not a motivator and the team quits on him this is an issue higher up the food chain - GM Jerry Jones.
As GM, he has failed. Without a Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells, providing guidance/direction Jerry is lost. He strictly chooses on performance and overlooks values.
With any organization, the foundation is built on values to enforce a certain expectation among coaches, players and administration. Jerry preaches "continuity" but there is no authentic foundation here. Jerry doesn't exhibit the leadership that is needed and disappointingly will not move aside as GM. Can you say Al Davis?
I have made a promise to myself to not invest any time or money into the Cowboys until they prove themselves worthy of my money and time. I have grown up loving this team but the team of today is not measuring up to the team that I grew up watching. I think we should all boycott them until they get their act straight. Lets get TO a pacy and lets get Romo a GOOD back up. JJ needs to wake up and realize that you can't buy a super bowl! You earn it with discipline and hard work. Quit throwing your money away!!
i think when the cowboys went 1-15 back in the late 80's i was happier calling myself a cowboy fan, that was the first year of irvin, emmitt, and troy... this team has more pure talent than they did but they still cant get the job done, What this team lacks that they didnt is dedication and hunger to be the best.. they have all the talent and no heart with the exception of whitten, barber and now choice
Tex Schramm is STILL the only General Manager the Cowboys have ever had -- and Barry Switzer is wearing Jimmy Johnson's third Superbowl ring.

Larry Moody has spoke the TRUTH!
I often wondered if any other diehard Cowboy fans felt that same way about Tex Schramm and Bungling Barry! Amen Brother!!!!
Larry Moody has hit the Nail on the Head! I have often wondered if there were any other diehard Cowboy fans out there that felt the same about Tex Schramm and Bungling Barry!
Amen Brother!!!!!
One time they were good and now they are terrible. I don't like Jerry Jones and one time I saw him picking his nose. Romo is a little boy with beady little eyes. What's the deal with the silly Fedora he wears? someone please tell him he's not Kevin Federline.
I have to go wash my feet as they stink.
Please Mr. Phippips, quit. You do not have what it takes to run the Dallas Cowboys.
It looks like your own players do not have confidence in you; so how are you going to over come that?
The fans for sure do not want you here. 90 percent of the fans are behind the fan that Bradie James encountered.
How can you change after 30 years?
Anyway, Jerry Jones might not want you here either, only he does not want to admit it.
So, please retire or just go home.
