Some very strange things tend to come out of Jerry Jones' mouth. That has been the case ever since he arrived in Dallas (remember the jocks and socks comment?). But it's offensive what Jerry said about Marion Barber on Sunday, when he questioned the veteran running back's toughness for not sucking it up and playing vs. the Steelers, despite his toe injury. Jerry apparently was stunned that Marion did not play in this game and declared his toe ready for game conditions. I'm not sure if he realized that Barber seemed to have tightness in his calf midway through the week, in addition to the toe injury. If there's anyone on this team whose toughness I don't question, it's Marion Barber. He's one of the true "gym rats" of the NFL, a guy who loves competing and loves contact. He doesn't talk to the media, but he lets his play do the talking instead. I'm thinking, if there was any way he could have played in this big game, he would have. Jerry is obviously feeling the pressure of possibly not making the playoffs, amidst all the high expectations this team carried heading into the season. It doesn't take very much to set off Jerry right now...his patience is nearing an end. But if I'm Jerry, Marion Barber is not a guy to question. I'd question Special Teams "guru" Bruce Read, or whoever allowed 12 men on the field late in the game, drawing a crucial penalty. Jerry is looking in the wrong places for blame. 8 CommentsLeave a comment |

Well, Jones IS the OWNER, PRESIDENT, & GENERAL MANAGER, so it is within his scope to question anything, logical or otherwise. However, there seems to be two things that Jerry has been unable to acquire: 1. CLASS, 2. RESPECTABILITY.
Jerry Jones is a freakin idiot! While I give him props for knowing how to make money, his ego will never allow him to put the right people in place to build the kind of respectability that Dallas had in Tex on Tom.
That is the utmost disrespect for a so called owner. How come he didn't berate Romo for his finger or Pacman for being an idiot. I lost respect for Jerry. I love the Cowboys but not the owner. There are several teams who wished they had someone of Marion's caliber. Honestly if I was Marion, matter of fact Marion if you're watching this if I were you, I'd just forfeit the rest of your contract and go elsewhere because Jerry Jones doesn't deserve a player as you. Marion Barber you truly deserve better and you didn't deserve that, not one bit.
Jerry you have disspointed me by your comments on Marion. That's not the way to motive you team. Look at all the balls that Owens has dropped and all the games that could have been won if Owens had caught the football. Don't blame him, blame the people that were there.
Marion every time he gets the ball he gives it everything he's got. How dare jerry jones.Shame on you.
And this is why I won't be purchasing anymore tickets for future Cowboy games. You have a soft coach, who is as soft as a pillow, a quarterback who smirks at the camera everytime he screws up and now a GM calling a great player (and nice guy from all appearances who isn't a thug) a sissy? WHAT THE HECK JONES? I think it is time for the GREAT JERRY JONES TO STEP ASIDE AND LET'S GET A REAL FOOTBALL GM IN TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS. How pathetic. Jones is looking for a scapegoat for the loss on Sunday. All the money in the world can't buy a good team if it doesn't have great leadership. Shut your mouth Jones. You are a freaking embarassment!
Marion Barber needs to decide on one of two choices -- stay or leave. If he wishes to stay, he should go to some bar filled with sluts and drunks. After tossing down a few straight shots, pick out a couple of guys and whip their butts. Then leave with a whore on each arm. He will now have the respect of the Arkansas hillbilly that owns the team and be forever entrenched.
Questioning the toughness of the one reliable, predictable, nearly unstoppable force on your team is not the way to run a grade school team, let alone an NFL team. The NFL needs to get rid of Jerry and Al Davis. Sometimes I think they are on in the same person, or maybe Al Davis IS Jerry's daddy...well, with those sweat suits, he could be Jerry's mama. Jerry needs to take a lesson from the late Clint Murchison, and let football guys run the football team, and sit back and count your money.
I hope Jerry loses his shirt on this new stadium. I know I have better things to spend my money on than his shrine to himself.
