Dallas' Dysfunctional Cowboys: Never a Dull Moment

Say this about the Cowboys- they are never boring.

That was fascinating television Sunday night from Texas Stadium. In the span of three hours, we saw the Cowboys go from internal conflict to a joyous peace rally. The image of Jason Witten, Tony Romo and Terrell Owens laughing and smiling after the game was a strange one. By the way, Witten didn't look like he was 100-percent over the whole thing.

But these are the Cowboys, take them or leave them. This is how things are going to be. Would you really want it any other way?

There are 31 other teams in the NFL, some more talented than the Cowboys and some not. But none are as interesting, as emotionally flawed, as distraught, and as flat-out bizarre as the team that calls Valley Ranch home.

Deep down, I think all of us enjoys the mayhem that we experience on a weekly basis. It makes things interesting- both for fans and for the media. It gives us something to talk about. As long as it doesn't translate into losses on the field, bring on the soap opera.

We all love soap operas.

It'll be interesting to see how long the Cowboys can play good ball without being distracted from the drama at hand. If the wins keep piling up, all will be forgiven. But the finger-pointing will surely re-emerge once we see a big defeat.
