From the Dallas Cowboys:

The New York Giants were held without a touchdown tonight to mark the third time this season a Dallas opponent failed to score a touchdown.

The Dallas defense racked up eight sacks tonight, the most sacks in a game since recording nine against Arizona (11/9/97). It also marked the eighth game this season that Dallas has had four-or-more sacks, second only to the nine games the team had in 1985.

Dallas upped its season sack total to 53 with its eight sacks tonight. It ties the club's seventh-most sacks in a season all-time and is the fifth-highest total since sacks became official in 1982.

In allowing just 72 rushing yards tonight, the Cowboys have now yielded less than 100 yards 11 times this season and for five consecutive games. The last time a Dallas opponent topped 100 rushing yards was at the N.Y. Giants (11/2) when New York rushed for 200 yards.

The Dallas Cowboys did not turn the ball over tonight for the second time this season. The first was against Tampa Bay (10/26).

Deon Anderson had his first career touchdown on a one-yard pass from Tony Romo in the fourth quarter.

Chris Canty had 1.5 sacks tonight for his first multi-sack performance. He now has 3.5 on the season tying his single-season career-high from 2007.

In the fourth quarter tonight, Tashard Choice rushed 38 yards for his first career touchdown. It was also a career-long run for Choice.

Greg Ellis' two sacks tonight marked his 19th career multi-sack effort.

Bradie James upped his single-season career-high sack total to 6.0 with his sack this evening.

Terence Newman had two interceptions in tonight's game to give him his second career multi-interception game (three - at Was. 12/14/03).

With his three catches tonight, Terrell Owens now has 940 for his career to tie Art Monk (940) for seventh on the NFL's all-time receptions list. He also upped his Cowboys career receptions total to 224 to pass Ron Springs (222) for 15th in franchise history.

Tony Romo threw for 244 yards tonight to give him 10,127 for his career - the sixth Dallas quarterback to pass the 10,000-yard barrier. It also allowed him to top 3,000 yards (3,013) for the second consecutive season.

Jason Witten's 44 receiving yards tonight gave him 4,798 for his career and moved him past Rodney Holman (4,771) and Jerome Barkum (4,789) for 27th in league history among tight ends.

Witten's five catches tonight upped his career total to 417 and moved him past Jeremy Shockey (416) and into a tie with Brent Jones for 18th all-time among league tight ends.

DeMarcus Ware tied his single-game career-best with three sacks tonight. It was the third time this season and fifth time in his career he has had three sacks in a game. It was also Ware's ninth career multiple-sack game - third of the season.

His three sacks tonight, gave Ware 52.5 for his career - the 11th Dallas defender to register at least 50 sacks in his career. Ware reached the 50-sack plateau in 62 games - tying Tim Harris for the fourth-fastest defender in league history to reach 50 since sacks became an official stat:

Games
Player to 50 sacks

Reggie White 40

Derrick Thomas 54

Dwight Freeney 61

Tim Harris 62

DeMarcus Ware 62

Bruce Smith 63

Ware now has 19.0 sacks this season, tying him with Mark Gastineau (N.Y.J. - 1983), Clyde Simmons (Phi. - 1992) and Bruce Smith (Buf. - 1990) for the eighth-most in a single season in league history. Michael Strahan (2001) holds the league record with 22.5.

Ware also increased his club record since sacks became an official stat in 1982. He trails only Harvey Martin (23.0), for the all-time unofficial single-season club record.
