« Dallas' Dysfunctional Cowboys: Never a Dull Moment |
Main
| Cowboys could actually clinch a playoff spot Sunday »
The Dallas Cowboys are sending five players to the Pro Bowl. Four will be starters, including nose tackle Jay Ratliff, who gets his first trip to Hawaii. Three players on offense were selected -- Leonard Davis (second), Andre Gurode (third) and Jason Witten (fifth). Gurode and Witten were named as starters to the NFC squad. Witten is making his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl appearance, joining Jay Novacek (five selections) for the most appearances by a tight end in club history. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (third) was also selected. Ware was named as a starter for the third straight year. This season marks the 29th season in which the Cowboys have had five-or-more Pro Bowl selections. Notable omissions for the Cowboys include quarterback Tony Romo, wide receiver Terrell Owens, running back Marion Barber, kicker Nick Folk and linebackers Bradie James and Zach Thomas. 17 CommentsLeave a comment |

I love it! Whitten gets the nod over Owens. This should provide even more turmoil at Valley Ranch. I'm sure Owens thinks the voters like Whitten more than him and even make special considerations for him over Terrell. T.O. is a joke and his true colors are finally showing just like Randy Galloway predicted.
TO MUST GO. Time has run out on TO and isn't that what TO stands for anyway, Time Out???
Getting to the super bowl should be first on everyones mind instead every player is aiming at making the pro bowl every year. Does anybody even watch the pro bowl. And TO needs to shut up and worry about winning games instead of padding up his stats every week, football is a team sport its not baseball which is a stat sport. GO COWBOYS!!!!
guys......its seems you are all T.O Haters...this wont help this team this time...lets get united and STOP this crap about TO must go.......did any of you remember what you did to the Dallas Mavs..."Avery must go"..now the Mavs are one of the struggling team in the NBA with bad recoed when the session is not even half way....wake up guys... and lets support this team instead of trying to pull TO down........TO dont give a crap about Pro bowl.....can someone count how many times hes been there....LOL...more than 5 times
Funny! Apparently Galloway was the only one who knew TO would lead to drama? LOL! Anybody who knows anything about the NFL knew it would happen eventually. Gallloway just likes to predict doom and gloom for the Cowboys then pretend to be all-knowing when the bad times eventually come....
...I don't think the players really aim for the pro bowl. There may be way too many that aim for stats and records. But not the pro bowl. Between now and the game, there will be a minimum of 10 who get replaced for minor injuries or personal reasons. They don't care about the game. Though I agree that not enough care about winning as much as they should....
...Not a TO hater here. I thought it was worth the gamble. And may still be. But when a guy has work out his welcome, a change has to be made. I am not saying TO has, but there sure seems to be a lot of drama lately compared to the first 2 years. (which is TO's m.o., by the way). Comparing it to Avery is funny to me. In the NBA, coaches like Avery always have an immediate impact. He led the Mavs to the Finals in his first full year. Then got the best record in the league the next. But everything fell apart after that. Last season, Avery kept complaining that the team was not playing smart ball...the defense wasn't tough, they were settling for way too many jump shots, etc. Who else do you blame for that? If the coach can't fix the way the team is playing and/or the players won't listen, the coach has to go. And I am a huge Avery fan! But it was the right move. Now, it should have been matched with several personnel moves in the offseason, and was not. Devin should have never been traded. We should have moved up in the draft. We should have traded Howard for Artest. But none of those moves would have worked if Avery were still here.
Tony, T.O. should have never come, so getting rid of the disruptive jerk is a relevant topic. I've hated him since day-1.
remo is great and Jason is the best reciever on the cowboys roster
T.O is the best wide receiver in the NFL. Romo does not throw to TO often enough. If he did they would be in first place and going to the Super bowl
T O is a better receiver although Witten is good. The problem is Romo and his poor vision who is not a great qb. He is just the best they have had since Troy Aikman. Face it the cowboys tried to make two pitchers quarterbacks in the NFL. Then tried to ressurect 2 past their prime. Cowboys out of playoff after first game if they are luck enough to get there. Go Titans!
Now what is T.O. going to complain about,oh yeah, his whinning mouth didn't get him voted into the pro bowl.BOO-HOO
Now what is T.O. going to complain about,oh yeah, his whinning mouth didn't get him voted into the pro bowl.BOO-HOO
The problem with most sports is it's no longer about winning - it's only about money. T.O. doesn't get the good contract without the stats. The real problem with this team is the owner. He's the one that sold out and hired PacMan, T.O, Tank, he sold off morality just to get a superbowl. He paid Tony Romo too soon... What do you expect.
COWBOYS HAS LOT OF TALENT AND WITH THAT TALENT LIES NO SUPER BOWL BECAUSE JERRY JONE HAS MONEY AND NO TALENT TO WHEN SUPER BOWL
T.O. is being tried and convicted in the court of public opinion and it's great. He was boo'd coming on the field and boo'd when he dropped the first pass. Jerry notices that more than anything else T.O. says. Bye Bye T.O.
tony, this is a blog....get over it. Anyone can say anything they want about T.O (or any other athlete). I guarantee T.O. DOES care about the Pro Bowl especially if he is left out and Witten is going. Remember, T.O. thinks the whole world loves him and they don't!
Quit being a bunch of haters. TO is cashing the checks and sitting at home watching TV while us common folks are at work reading about him. Get over it....he is the best wide receiver in the leauge and you know it. That's why we ALL follow him. Witten is a good TE but he isn't as good as TO no matter what position he plays and he never will be. Romo is an OK QB but he isn't the best either. They need to respect TO and get the ball to him......Let him do what he does so we can get to the Superbowl!
The Cowboys have some of the best talent I've ever seen, but they don't have supervision, a captain at the helm if you will, steering the ship or team in this case, there are so many I's in this group, to include the owner, there is no team. And that is what wins Superbowls....
