Cowboys Had "Most Talent"? Really?

I'm somewhat amused by all this talk, both from the players and we evil media ourselves, that the Cowboys somehow had the most talented team in the NFL this season. There's no question there are many talented players on the roster, but "most talented team"? Let's examine that, shall we.

Tony Romo, quarterback: A fine player who must cut down on his mistakes, but hardly "most talented" in the NFL. Give me Drew Brees instead and all those yards. You could even argue Brees doesn't have the top receivers in the league and he still put up giant numbers.

Marion Barber, running back: Injuries plagued him this season, but still..."most talented"? I wouldn't mind Mr. Adrian Peterson running in this backfield, would you? I think AP qualifies as most talented. Case closed.

Terrell Owens, wide receiver: Let's forget, for a second, his off-the-field garbage. His production on the field has diminished this season. Some say he has lost a step coming off the line. Give me Andre Johnson of the Texans instead, just coming off a remarkable season down in Houston. If anyone qualifies as "most talented", it's him. How about Carolina's Steve Smith? He runs circles around T-O as well.

Anyway, you get the point. This assumption that this is the most talented team has to go. The only current Cowboys I'd consider "most talented" in the NFL at their respective positions are Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware.

The rest? Well....talented.
