Neil Dougherty watches TCU-SMU game

So last night I went to Fort Worth to watch my beloved Horned Frogs play SMU.

I was not only pleasantly surprised by the strong performance by TCU in the 62-44 win, but I was also surprised to see former TCU coach Neil Dougherty there.

He was fired just a few months ago by TCU after six seasons and just a 75-106 record.

Would you return to your workplace after being fired to watch someone else do your job?

By the way, the Frogs made a great hire in Jim Christian. He is always coaching them up and has put together a decent roster in a short time.

Back to Dougherty, maybe part of the reason he was there was because of SMU coach Matt Doherty. The two were assistants together at Kansas under Roy Williams from 1995-99.

I don't ever remember seeing a coach watching his former team play so soon after being fired.

Hi Aaron,

I'm looking for a sports bar in Fort Worth to watch upcoming TCU basketball and football bowl games. It seems you may have some experience with this; would you mind giving me your recommendations?

Go Frogs,
