Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Martellus Bennett must not like hot wings.

When radio voice Brad Sham went to give him a $50 gift card to a local wing establishment for appearing on a post-game show, Bennett asked if he could trade it in for cash.

When told no, he started asking in the locker room if anyone wanted to buy it for $30. Bennett is a Texas A&M Aggie.

For the record, it was not the wing place with the scanti...

Aaron Chimbel

Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips says it's obvious star quarterback Tony Romo has missed some time.

"He was a little rusty as far as the passing game is concerned," Phillips said.

He says as Romo has gotten more work this week, he's gotten better.

"Not all of (his throws) were perfect," Phillips said, "but you could see the talent come out."

The coach said Romo has had no trouble gripping the ball or getting i...

Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips says the bye week should be good for his players. They will return to Valley Ranch Monday.

"I think they're going to be excited when they come back," he said.

Some teams give five or six days off, but Phillips decided to work his players two days.

"I think everyone was focused," he said. "The didn't have one foot in the parking lot."

As for the coaches, they'll still be ...

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips updated several injuries today.

Flozell Adams has an infected finger. Not a staff infection. He is on antibiotics.

Leonard Davis has a sprained foot. Both linemen have been held out of practice.

Phillips says they're held out a lot of the players, like veteran linebacker Zach Thomas, just to make sure every one is rested.

He said he held Felix Jones out, but he should be back for th...

Phillips: Ellis still starter

1:41 PM Thu, Nov 06, 2008 |
Aaron Chimbel

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips says Greg Ellis will still start at outside linebacker, but Anthony Spencer will get more work on first and second downs.

"I thought he played the best of anyone up front," Phillips said of Spencer. "The best of anyone on defense."

Phillips said they may also rotate their outside linebackers to also give DeMarcus Ware some rest during games, too.

Romo careful with pinkie

After almost every pass at practice today Tony Romo gingerly adjusted the small brace on his pinkie finger.

He broke his right pinkie last month in the Dallas Cowboys overtime loss to Arizona.

In the portion of the team's practice open to reporters today, he was being very careful with the finger, while also fully participating in drills and making all the throws.

He was also taking snaps without any problems from cen...

Romo can't fix all of Cowboys problems, but most of 'em

Dale Hansen

Cowboys don't have a game this week, but they are practicing for a couple of days anyway. Anybody think they need it?

A little practice. A little extra time to get healthy. And maybe they get better.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is practicing again -- still has the splint on his broken finger -- but he should be ready for the game in Washington.

Getting Romo back doesn't solve all of the Cowboys' problems, but it could...
