Dumb criminals target Dallas Cowboys

For a change, well at least it seems that way sometimes, some Dallas Cowboys are making the police blotter through no fault of their own.

Marion Barber has been burglarized by one of the members of the group known as the "Uptown Burglars." Barber had thousands of dollars in memorabilia, jewelry and electronics stolen.

Oh and it gets more bizarre. The man police accuse of committing the robbery is former UNT quarterback Damon West.

But here is the best part of the story: "The burglars allegedly drilled holes in people's apartment doors, ate their food and then took their property."

So let me get this straight, these Uptown Burglars decided to drill through a lock, then have a sandwich, maybe some chips and a drink, then rob the place?

I'm no burglar, but to me it would make sense if you're going to engage in this kind of activity that you'd want to get out of the place you are robbing as soon as possible. And certainly if I thought it was Barber's place I'd want to get out fast.

Haven't they seen the way he pounds would-be tacklers?

Read the News 8 exclusive from Rebecca Lopez here.

And in Las Vegas there is a voter fraud case where the group called ACORN or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now is accused of submitting voter registration forms with the names of Tony Romo and Terrell Owens.

Like no one would notice those names?

If you're going to use the name of a prominent Cowboy, you might want to try a more generic name like Adam Jones or Zach Thomas or Roy Williams, there are two players by that name in the NFL and also the college basketball coach.

Or better if you're getting your made up list of names go with some more obscure names like these:
Montrae Holland (the recently traded for guard)
Julius Crosslin (the practice squad fullback)
Courtney Brown (the backup safety -- heck this one could even be listed as a woman on the form, if they are really interested in fraud.)

And my personal favorite:
Louis-Philippe Ladouceur (the long snapper)

For their part ACORN is saying they're helping to turn in workers who submitted problem applications.

You can read more on the Nevada case here.

Just when you think those darn evildoers can't do anything more ridiculously stupid, you get these stories.
