I don't know whether you can find the segments from the Letterman show on-line somewhere, but it's worth a try if you're reading this, so you can get the full context. I really didn't have much of an opinion of her; I don't listen to her music, and all I ever hear her say comes in short sound-bite form. The radio guys were ripping her for her performance, one said that she was "embarrassing." I watched Letterman last night and saw Jessica's segment, and I couldn't stop smiling. I like this girl. She is out there, she knows she's being silly and potentially embarrassing, and she doesn't care. My favorite dynamic during the interview was that it seemed like Letterman was going out of his way to create uncomfortable pauses, in an effort to make her squirm or at least to let what she just said linger out there a little longer before he moved on. But she just never got uncomfortable. Simply put, she's a goofball, and a fun girl. Tony Romo has some goofball in him too; we just don't see it much anymore, since he's become more guarded (at least in front of us). |
