Since the first weekend in February we've been waiting for NFL games that matter. And finally here it is and there are already some intriguing story lines. Tonight we get the Giants-Redskins a NFC East rivalry that will give a taste of what we can expect for the Super Bowl champs from New York. I can't see how they can continue their incredible run that they ended last season with. They've lost two dominating defensive ends and Eli Manning has to come down to Earth. Sunday brings the New York Jets at the Miami Dolphins. A little intrigue here. Lets see Brett Favre playing for a new team, Chad Pennington playing against his old one. Dolphins coach Tony Sporano making his debut under the watchful eye of his former Cowboys boss, Bill Parcells. Jets should win. They have the better talent, but don't count out Pennington. He was basically tossed out by the Jets. Of course the Cowboys also play Sunday, but there's not a lot of intrigue in their game at Cleveland. Adam 'Pacman' Jones makes his debut, but there is no way this should be much short of a blowout. Sure the Browns were good last year, however, this Cowboys team believes they are special. Special teams need to let everyone know they are to be reckoned with. Monday more intrigue with Minnesota at Green Bay. How will Aaron Rogers do and are the Vikings legit contenders? I say fine and maybe with good quarterback play. Also check back here Friday for the WFAA sports team's predictions for the Cowboys this season. Here's a tease: Dale Hansen says this should be the best Cowboys team in 12-13 years. This is the most wonderful time of the year. |
