I guess the good news is Texas Stadium has an artificial surface, not a grass one. Just as some of the greatest players in Dallas Cowboys history began to sign autographs for 1,000 fans (many more filled one half of the lower bowl), rain began to pour down from the giant hole in the roof. The retractable roof will be just one of the nice features in the new more than $1 billion stadium in Arlington that will be the team's new home. Players like Tony Dorsett, Randy White, Bob Lilly, Preston Pearson, Russell Maryland, John Niland and many more had to find cover to continue signing autographs. Many dedicated fans -- some who had been waiting for hours -- withstood the deluge to meet their idols. Niland compared it to a game he once played in, but said he'd never signed autographs in that kind of environment. A half hour before the team's scheduled practice from 7 to 9 p.m., the rain has let up a bit. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

I drove up from Austin for this event. I left at 3:00am and was the FIRST one there literaly. I arrived at 6:00 am and was the 11th person to get a wristband. People were cutting in line. Anyway, after we waited all day and I was the third person to walk on to the field for autographs. Needless to say there was no order whatsoever and once the autographs did start it started pouring down rain. I had never been so honored and let down at the same time in my life. I wanted to meet Tony Dorsett. Does anyone know how to contact Tony or any other HOF Dallas Cowboys directly? E-mail address? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
