First, I didn't think trading cards were even still things anyone really cared about. I mean they were kind of a hobby back when I was growing up and a much bigger deal for my dad's generation in the 50s and 60s. But now there is a story about Michael Phelps' card. And it's not just another card. It's now estimated to be worth $500, up from a measly $25 a couple weeks ago. The cards are 2004 ones that he autographed. About 300 of them were produced by Arlington-based Donruss. Of course if he keeps racking up the golds, the prices will keep going up. It sounds a little crazy for the card to increase in value that much that quickly but its good for the people with the card.
