Witten went right up the middle of the field, past James, to make a catch for what would have certainly been a big gain and maybe a touchdown. Jones starts with five quarterbacks, but he insists, once he finds his guy, he will stick with him. "I told them last night that the best guy will play, and I try to hang with that guy as long as I can," Jones said. "That's kind of what I've done in the past. Terrell Owens sat out of practice and Tony Romo is taking it easy. "We try to monitor everybody certainly," Phillips said. "You have to watch older players" Phillips is also impressed with defensive tackle Tank Johnson, who joined the Cowboys after a league mand... The Cowboys play in San Diego Saturday night, marking a return for coach Wade Phillips. Coach Phillips joked that since he's been so many places they're all special.
