With the departure of Terry Glenn, the Cowboys receiving corps looks a little different this year, even after not having Glenn all last season. By all accounts Patrick Crayton is the number 2 followed by a clump at 2- how ever many receivers they keep. That list includes Sam Hurd(my pick for #3), Miles Austin, Isaiah Stanback, and Danny Amendola. While driving home from working out this morning, Dola(as we called him at Texas Tech), was on 1310 The Ticket with Norm Hitzges. Having graduated from Tech at the same time as Danny, I have seen this kid play for 4 years now, so I am obviously rooting for him. But, after hearing his interview, how can you not want this guy to make the team? Norm went through the series of questions about being fast enough, strong enough, big enough, etc. Amendola answered with yes sirs and no sirs throughout the interview but the best line from him(I'm paraphrasing)...I just play football and I'm going to keep playing until they tell me to stop, and they haven't told me to stop yet. How can you not like that? For all the Cowboys fans out there that haven't seen him play and discredit him because of his size, speed or lack thereof, you will love him WHEN(that's my bold prediction for the day) he makes this team. He gives 100% every play...Go to :41 and check out the block...he rarely(if ever) drops a pass and he is the type of guy a fan base gets behind. He's the Rusty Greer to the Rangers and what Eduardo Najera was to the Mavs. Not the most talented, but he gives it everything he's got on every play. As for the Wes Welker comparisons, anything is possible. I'm not saying Amendola will lead the league in catches this season, but in time he can flourish in an offense such as Dallas's in the slot receiver position just as Welker did in New England. I guess there is something to a "gimmick" or spread offense, no? Trust me Cowboys fans, you want this guy on your team. 4 CommentsLeave a comment |

I agree 100 percent. Watched him play these last 4 years and he is amazing to watch. I really hope the Cowboys hold a slot open for him to stay. It would be ashame if they loose him to another team.
Amendola would be a great pick up for the Cowboys and a perfect complement to Owens.
Haven't seen this pointed out before, but I don't think it's coincidence that they gave Danny 18 when Owens is 81. He is the perfect compliment.
Techfan:
"ashame" "loose" That's terrible.
.....I can already hear the "Tech's education is 3rd tier" comments from UT and A&M fans.
