This is a companion post to the "What a Show" post I authored earlier.

While the american men have failed to get it done on the world tennis scene, we need to thank Venus and Serena Williams for getting their games together, staying healthy, and creating a buzz at Wimbledon.

Its such an odd thing to watch two people so obviously close battle it out for the most coveted prize in their given proffession. After it was over, you could almost see Venus holding back her celebration. But it didn't really matter to me who won, it was the fact that they both made it and created the spectacle for us all to witness. That's what mattered most to me.

And then just a few hours later when they teamed up to win the doubles title, it was as if everything was made right when they could rejoice together. Becase although Serena lost the title, she and her sister are both winners when it comes to bearing the standard for American tennis.
