« Wimbledon: Williams sisters final closer with Venus win |

| Wimbledon: Serena joins Venus in semifinals »
I thought it would never happen. Mired in mediocrity for much of the past month, the Texas Rangers finally improved to two games above .500 Monday night and did it against the hated Yankees in the Bronx. The Rangers were previously 0-5 when they could go two games over even. What's more is the Rangers did it with pitching, including a bullpen that has overcome poor performances in recent weeks and a closer who has gone from erratic to dominating. The bullpen did not allow a hit in 3 1/3 innings Monday. They did the same Sunday. The Rangers have two more against the Yankees, then series with Baltimore, the Angels and the White Sox before the All-Star break. All of those teams are above .500 too. It'll be a good test to see if the Rangers are mediocre or will contend. |
