You know it's the off-season when the Dallas Mavericks are involved in numerous trade rumors. Last week, there was speculation Ron Artest would be next to don the white, blue and black. All the Mavs would have to give up in exchange was Josh Howard and most likely Brandon Bass. Well, another week and another rumor. This time it's Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith. This is another deal that would involve Josh Howard. We all heard after Howard's late season mishaps he would be the likely candidate to move, plus he is the most valuable minus the German big man. This is a trade that is more intriguing than Ron Artest. Smith is younger (22), longer and more athletic. Three things this Mavericks team needs, He has a decent outside shot, he can throw it down with the best and he gets a ton of blocks(not just blocks, but game changing, get off my court blocks). Think Tyson Chandler with an ok outside shot and more athletic. Smith's numbers last season: 17 PPG, 8 RPG, 2.8 Blocks per game Right now this is nothing but speculation, but think about Kidd running the break with 7 footer Nowitzki and 6-9 Smith running the wings. Who does the D guard? Dirk for 3 or Smith going in for the windmill dunk? Not a bad idea. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

i know it's all rumors, like when we had a chance to land kobe, but this sound more legit. josh smith is younger, faster, cheaper, and only getting better. plus we want someone who can catch the lobs from kidd. i hate to see bass go, but this guy is a freak!!!
