Gerald Green on the Ticket

I just heard new Maverick Gerald Green on the Ticket with Norm. He's saying all the right things, about being humbled and hungry and ready to "re-launch" his career. Watch my story here

One thing he said on Norm's show that concerned me a bit - Green said he's always been a hard worker, first in the gym and the last to leave. He said he stayed that way despite getting next to no playing time with Minnesota last season. What concerns me is just a little bit ... if that is true - if he was working very hard - and he didn't play much, does that mean he's just not very good? I don't know and I hope not, because like I said, he's been saying all the right things since joining the Mavs and seems very sincere in his effort to revive his career.

Green did admit that even though he was first-one-in-last-to-leave, he maybe wasn't doing the right kind of work. That seems to make more sense. A lot of young guys may be willing to put in the time, but they're not using their time as efficiently as possible, because they simply don't know how. Hopefully the coaching staff of the Mavericks can change that.

For more background on Green, his career and how/why it stalled in Minnesota, check out this interesting article from a few months ago. Read article here
