Favre should stay retired

Here we go again. Brett Favre just can't make up his mind. The legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback is considering unretiring, according to an ESPN report.

It was just March when he said he's gone, now he wants to come back.

When he retired, a teary Favre said, "I've given everything I possibly could give to this organization, the game of football, and I don't think I've got anything left to give And that's it. I know I can play. But I don't think I want to."

So now he suddenly has more to give? He suddenly wants to play?

He took his time after the Packers remarkable run last season. He got a young, unheralded team and turned them into contenders. He left on a high note.

What he's doing now is unfair.

Unfair to Aaron Rogers, the quarterback in waiting.

Unfair to coach Mike McCarthy, who needs to be able to plan for his season.

Unfair to the Packers players, who deserve to be able to fully support Rogers or whichever quarterback the team chooses.

Unfair to Packers fans, who invest their time and money into supporting their team and are constantly dragged along into a game of will he or won't he.

And it's unfair to his family, who after 17-years were expecting him home.

Yes it's his (and the team's) decision, but many other people are affected. He made his decision. It's time to move on.

He was right when he said he can still play, but he was also right when he told himself he didn't want to play anymore.
