July 16, 2008 ArchivesNews 8's Jim Douglas has an interesting story about James Bradshaw, a standout lineman form Trinity High School's state championship team. (Read it and watch video here.) At this point, he's not allowed to attend Arkansas-Pine Bluff next month on a full-scholarship because of a transcript glitch that misidentified a Spani... I did a story on Orville Rogers, a 90-year-old Dallas man who runs competitively. In March, he set a couple records for his age group at a meet in Boston, in the 800 meter run and the mile. Here are a few things about Orville I couldn't fit in the story that were interesting: Orville was named after Orville Wright, one of the Wright brothers. He was a pilot for Braniff Airlines for 32 years, until his retirement in 1977. Branif... It's a little bit of a tease. The team will poke fun at the latest gossip about the two mega-stars. One dollar tickets will be offered to any couples coming to the game who claim to "share an agent." Fans will also receive dollar admission i... No matter how many times Michael Young came up in the All-Star Game Tuesday night and stretching past 1:30 Wednesday morning in New York you, or I at least, kept thinking Young would win it. He's simply clutch. I just didn't think it would take to the 15th inning. Two years ago Young was the MVP of the game when he hit a game-winning triple. This time it was a sacrifice fly that gave the Texas Ranger and the American League a ... |
