Aside for the obvious benefit of nullifying his off-season designation as the franchise player (which would give him a one-year contract at $4.4 million dollars, the average salary of the league's five highest-paid safeties), which he was not happy about, it provides stability at a position that has plagued the Cowboys since Darren Wo... I watched the home run derby with some friends and fellow sports fans last night, and a few things stand out... After his second home run in the first round, the one that hit the wall behind the right-centerfield seats, the crowd and players went so crazy that the contest was stopped down for a few moments. Again, this was after his second home run. When the first round ended, players from both leagues surroun... The college football season kicks off in a month and a half and the University of North Texas has set the times for its games. The Mean Green begins at a Big 12 school, Kansas State, at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30. A walk-off home run for a Rangers win over the Angels last week, then Monday night he electrified Yankee Stadium with a barrage of long balls in the first round of the All-Star Home Run Derby.
