Before he became the NFL MVP, LaDainian Tomlinson was a backup running back and kick returner for the TCU Horned Frogs as a sophomore in 1998.

Now the San Diego Chargers star running back has been named to the 75th Anniversary All-Sun Bowl Team.

TCU beat USC 28-19 in the 1998 Sun Bowl. It was the Horned Frogs' first bowl win in 41 years, dating back to a 28-27 victory over Jim Brown and Syracuse in the 1957 Cotton Bowl.

The Mavericks won't be signing one 6-8 swingman and three-point threat.

MIAMI (AP) -- James Jones has signed a five-year contract with
the Miami Heat, giving the swingman an opportunity to play for his

TCU pitcher Cashner cashes in with Cubs

The closer from the TCU baseball team is now a millionaire.

Andrew Cashner, who just completed his junior year in Fort Worth, was the Chicago Cubs first round draft pick (19th overall), now he gets a $1.54 million signing bonus and $75,000 that will go toward finishing school.

As part of the deal, the right-handed pitcher receives an invitation to the 2009 big league Spring Training camp in 2009.
