John Danks (Round Rock HS) and Clayton Kershaw (Highland Park HS) started against each other today; Danks for the White Sox and Kershaw for the Dodgers. The game is still going, but both guys are out of the game (Sox lead 2-0 in the 9th). Danks pitched six shutout innings and lowered his ERA to 2.62; Kershaw went four innings, giving up two runs and walking four. After seven starts, Kershaw still doesn't have a win this season -- he's 0-1 (0-2 if the White Sox hold on). He's only 20 years old, and his ERA is 4.36, so he's doing pretty considering he was pitching for Highland Park as recently as May 2006. |
