Silver Boot Series resumes tonight with firsts

The Texas Rangers head to H-Town tonight to resume to battle for the coveted Silver Boot.

At least someone outside New York, Chicago and LA is excited about interleague play.

David Murphy is one. Nolan Ryan is another. It's a game of firsts for both.

For the legendary pitcher, it's his first return to Houston since leaving the Astros to become president of the Rangers.

"It's a different perspective than any time I've been in professional baseball, because I know both teams so well," Ryan told The Dallas Morning News. "So many of their players have come through our system at Corpus and Round Rock, and I've worked with them. I'm looking forward to it."

For the rookie outfielder, it's a return to his hometown team. Murphy grew up in the suburb of Spring.

The Rangers won two games against the Astros in Arlington already this year for a 2-1 record and edge to clinch the boot.

Here's a good tidbit from MLB.com: If the series ends up 3-3, then the trophy is decided by run differential. Texas already has an 11-run lead.
