SPAIN VERSUS GERMANY
If you did not see the World Cup in 2006, you missed the world famous Zidane-Materazzi head butt incident. In my opinion, that was some of the best television I have ever witnessed. France and Italy put forth a world class effort in Berlin, Germany. Although the game certainly ended in controversy, there was no shortage of excitement all the way up to the very end of the match. If you never saw the head butt, google it right now!
The Euro Cup Final in Vienna, Austria puts Spain against Germany. The Hosts of the World Cup in 2006 are confident in their team and have the backing of all Germans at home and all over the world. Dirk Nowitzki will certainly be watching it on television, if not watching in person. (ruining the view of whoever has the seat behind him) My favorite throughout the tournament has been Spain. They started in the "Group of Death" with Italy, France, and Russia. All very strong sides, Spain took care of business and deserve to be in the Final. David Villa, who had 3 goals against Russia in the group stage, left the quarter final game against Russia on Thursday due to injury. If he is unable to play against Germany, the Spanish will have their hands full against the likes of Michael Ballack, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, and Bastiar Schweinsteiger. Spain will need their stars to shine and they are counting on Cesc Fabregas, Fernando Torres, and their goalkeeper Iker Casillas who has been more than brilliant in the European Cup this summer. Don't miss it, it airs here on channel 8 Sunday at 1:30pm. Cheers
