Sometimes the team with the best record does win it's sports championship. It didn't happen for the New England Patriots, but the Boston Celtics were dominating in the regular season with a gaudy .805 winning percentage (66-16) and were just as dominant Tuesday night defeating the LA Lakers 131-92. It was laughable. All those Kobe haters are smiling today. And what about that Western Conference dominance? Three of the past five NBA champs are from the East. This year's Celtics, of course the Miami Heat from 2006 and the Pistons in 2004. Of all those great West teams only the San Antonio Spurs have won an NBA title in the past year (2007 and 2005). You have to go back to 1999-2003 when the Spurs won the first and last and Lakers three in the middle for true West dominance, at least in the finals. |
