TCU Needs To Get Out of The First Round

Schlossnagle.gifTCU Head Baseball Coach Jim Schlossnagle has been on the job for five seasons, and has yet to miss the NCAA tournament. Now he says, he might have his best chance yet to advance.

"It's most impressive team I've ever coached, far and away," he said after a morning practice. "That includes some teams at other schools that won 48 games and one that won 56 and went to the college world series, but this is the best team I've ever coached.

Will it translate to TCU's first ever trip to the College World Series. Hard to tell this early but with a record 43-and-17, even the players feel something special.

"This team has a lot of things that teams in the past haven't had," says Infielder Matt Carpenter.

Last year, TCU won two games, but still lost in the first round of the tournament. Now they would like more. And even more impressive, is the growing streak. Of the 287 schools, only 18-have been to the NCAA tournament five years in a row. TCU is one of those 18, and with a little bit of luck, could become the first Horned Frogs team to reach the Super Regionals.
