Stars fans came through

I was at the game last night, and two things stood out above everything else: the arena was packed in time for face-off. This was not the standard Dallas late-arriving crowd; everyone was in their seats (or standing in front of them) by the time the game began, and even for the national anthem.

The other thing that was great was the way the fans showed their appreciation to the Stars in the final seconds. As the last 10 seconds ticked off, fans stood up and gave the team a standing ovation. You could tell the players appreciated it too -- after the handshake line, Brenden Morrow was leaving the ice, and he raised his stick high in the air, causing another good ovation. And then he, like several of his teammates, gave his hockey stick to one of the fans as he walked toward the locker room.

Nice post, Ted.

Stars fans showed great class, with one minute left in an obvious loss, they stood to their feet, waved their flags and screamed " thank you " as loud as they could. Personally I'm very proud of the guts the Stars had this season, when nobody in the NHL took them seriously, and can't wait for next year. Thank you Dallas Stars, and thank you, ' you flaky southern hockey fans ', for proving the experts wrong. GO STARS
