So I watched the TCU-UNLV MWC tournament game last night at a sports bar with a fellow TCU alum (shout out to Tom) and it was one heck of a game. Back and fourth, tons of 3s and even a controversial ending (questionable call that basically ended the game), but I was trying to look on the bright side, that maybe a loss will be good for the program. If they had won wouldn't that give AD Danny Morrison a reason to keep coach Neil Dougherty? As both Tom and I said Dougherty is a nice guy, great dresser (he was once named best dressed coach in the country), but the program is worse off now than when he started six years ago (to paraphrase the famous political line). He's 75-108. There's no reason to be 33 games below .500, especially when you play so many cupcakes in non-conference and play in a fairly weak conference. So while it was a great game, fun to watch, where was this all season and the past six seasons? Game story: TCU's thrilling 3's not enough against UNLV |
