How Good Would They Be?

Texas holds off Miami for berth in Sweet 16

Can you imagine how good the Longhorns men's basketball team would be this year if they had Seniors LaMarcus Aldridge and Daniel Gibson and Sophomore Kevin Durant playing on the team?

Despite almost blowing the Miami game, Texas has reached the Sweet Sixteen for the 5th time in the past 7 years. Impressive for a school that had only 7 Sweet Sixteen appearances in school history before Rick Barnes arrived at UT in 1998.

It didn't take long for Rick Barnes to make Texas one of the elite teams in college basketball. Barnes has molded UT into a top desired destination for top high school recruits. And even after losing young, talented players to the NBA year after year, they continue to remain among the best in the NCAA.

This year Texas has victories over top-seeds Kansas and UCLA. Now they need 4 more wins and if they do that, the high school recruits should keep coming in droves.
