Mavericks Forward Dirk Nowitzki seemed to negotiate the stairs at the American Airlines Center fairly well, despite wearing a protective boot on his left ankle. Nowitzki suffered a moderate high left ankle sprain and a mild left knee sprain in Sunday's game against the Spurs. Asked if needs a Hyperbaric Chamber, like Cowboys Wide Receiver Terrell Owens used during his rehab process, Nowitzki seemed open at the idea. "I don't have any experience in that area," he said after the team practiced at the American Airlines Center. "Whatever I need to do, I will do," he said. He also has to decided if he will travel with the team while he's out or stay back in Dallas. "I'd love to go and support the troops," he said. "If its best to stay here, and get treatment and sleep in whatever chamber I need to sleep in, ha ha ha, I'll do that." Owens may be the most famous athlete to use the chamber, but the list includes other notables like major league pitcher John Smoltz and retired NHL star Mario Lemieux. |
