I woke up this morning realizing that the Adam "Pacman" Jones visit to Michael Irvin's talk show on ESPN radio Tuesday was more than a mere coincidence. In my view, it was strictly a public relations move to try and soften his checkered background so that when he signs with the Cowboys in a couple of weeks, the shock of who he is and what he's done in the past has been reduced. How did he end up on the ESPN radio in the first place? "I didn't talk to Jerry (Jones) about any of this," said Irvin after the three hour interview, "because I always wanted to be able to have plausible deniability, you know what I'm saying." Sounds a little wink winkish. His agent is working on a deal but wouldn't say if the Titans have given him permission to seek a trade. Jones kept mentioning that his suspension will reach the one year mark on April 10th and is hopeful that he will be reinstated at that time. It seems obvious to me that a deal is in the works or may have already been completed, a deal that will bring Jones to Dallas. That explains his arrival in Dallas and explains his appearance on Irvin's talk show. What else could it be? It would have been even more obvious if he had been a guest on The Ticket which is the Cowboys Flag Ship station. Even when Jones left the studios of 103.3 in Arlington, he sounded like a man that would be moving to Dallas real soon. "Hey, thank you all for having me," he said climbing in a limo. "I hope I'll be back here real, real soon." A few minutes earlier he said "I want to play in Dallas for several reasons. It's America's team, and I love the City of Dallas, and there is nowhere else I really want to play right now. That doesn't sound like a guy who was just in town to revisit his demons. 5 CommentsLeave a comment |

Right on Dale.... you speak for many people when you say that signing Pacman Jones is a disgrace. I have proudly stood by the Cowboys since I was old enough to sit on the couch with dad and watch Tom Landry walk the side lines. We have had some hard times in the organization but this is just shameless. I guess this is living proof that money can't buy everything or Jerry Jones would have bought some pride.
I listened to Dale Hansens report bout Pac Man Jones and I must agree with him.
Jerry Jones has completely bought this team down the tubes.
It seems he always goes for the NFL rejects and so far they have not paid off for the team.
Dallas was once a proud city with a proud team.
Now we are a very embarrased city with a team of ex-cons,drunks, drug addicts and losers.
What happened. What happened was "Jerry Jones bought the team."
I am a great fan and try to support the team, but it looks like to me and a few thousand other Dallasites theat it more about how much Jerry can make and how big he can make things.
It would be nice to see a boycot of the team and just see how much money Jerry looses.
He will never ever and should never ever go into any kind of Hall of Fame.
Tom Landy's team has been turned into a joke and I am sure he is up there looking down and trying to figure out himself how it came to this.
I am not a hugh fan of group sports such as football. I tend to lean towards the individual sports like golf, motorcross, tennis etc., so what I have to say may not mean much to most. I must say that I agree completely with what Dale Hansen had to say tonight on the news. We are in a sad state when a buisinessman with the pull of (j)erry (j)ones will stoop so low as to hire a "steaming shovel full" of a person like pacman in order to acomplish whatever it is that he seeks to accomplish. Sadly, many many young males and females, some so old that it amazes me, look up to, idolize and mimmic these sport figures. Many of them could not hold a job if they could not catch a football.
In the words of days past, "Wake Up America". Does the abillity to make "X" amount of money a year make all actions "Fair Game".
I pitty the FOOL that puts up with and is willing to pay what jerry is asking, to watch the likes of pacman put on a show for the scumbags who watch and idolize.
That's all I have to say about that.
Dale,
FINALLY you get it !! Jerry Jones never had a sense of decency and could care less about the legacy of the Cowboys. He's only interested in the money and acclaim he will receive if the Cowboys win a Super Bowl. Buy you know what? They won't as long as he is the owner. Teams consist of talented, dedicated young men, who have moral leadership. Jones has no morals.
Kudos to you Dale. Exactly what I had been thinking!
