Here is Donny Camacho of Garland, and his son, Favian Camacho, 3, a patient at Children's Medical Center Dallas with our resident crafting pro, Miss Nancy Johnson creating this month's craft, Decoupage Candles. Miss Nancy worked with all of her little patient friends at Children's yesterday to make these gorgeous candles in time for the kiddos to give them to their mom on Mother's Day. Check out the easy instructions she provided to make these at home. And when you're done, give it to your mom and even other special girl friends in your life! Oh and a big thanks as always to Miss Nancy for the craft and for all that she does for the kiddos at Children's!

Decoupage Candles

Supplies:
Pillar candles (white or cream color)
White glitter
Assorted napkins
Scissors
Paint/sponge brush
Mod Podge or Elmer's glue thinned with water
Paper towel
Directions:

You must first rough up the candle with a paper towel so that the Mod Podge or glue will adhere. Cut out pieces of napkin in what ever pattern you would like to make the design for your candle. Paint on a thin layer of Mod Podge or glue and then apply the napkin pieces. Continue to layer Mod Podge and napkin pieces until you have the design you would like. Then paint one last coat of Mod Podge or glue to cover the entire candle and sprinkle heavily with glitter. The candle will appear milky in color but it will dry clear. Once the candle has dried it is safe to burn.
